THE VERN AND GARY SHOW

Sorbet Watch:

As I wrote last Friday, I do love listening to Gary Danielson and Vern Lundquist on the CBS. They're doing the SEC Fiasco Bowl right now, and Danielson was just noting how Tennessee defenders sometimes get miscredited on tackles because their uniform numbers are so difficult to read. I'll second that. The Neyland Stadium press box is ionospheric, and when you compound that with the light-on-light (white on orange) numbers that the Vols have--with no dark bordering--you just can't read them very well.

Lundquist, on Tennessee's unis: "They look like moving dreamsicles."

I wonder if Miechael Hiestand jotted that down.

Ryan Perilloux just escaped pressure and threw a bullet-like pass about 50 yards downfield to a wide-open Brandon LaFell. That was positively JaMarcusan of him. And LSU scores! (cue the CBS college football jingle...)

They are awful as commentators for the SEC--both are biased--they are admantly Florida Gator fans. It would not be so bad if they did not call plays before they happen. The bad part is they are not right. If this is all you have, you are in bad shape.

Herb does not vote when he calls a game. Why can you not afford more knowledgeable commentators?

Today has been especially trying because as of the 3rd quarter,I think Forida has only 1 or 2 penalties. Oops--they scored and what excitement--not from the fans--the commentators--

Please move forward---

With sincere regards,

Connie

Now ---wouldn't that be an incomplete pass? Are they watching the same game that we are?

What world are they in?
