UCLAYLA! YOU GOT ME ON MY KNEES!
UCLA just scored a touchdown right before halftime to make this a game again, 17-7. I imagine that only every last Southern Cal fan in the country noticed that UCLA wideout Dominique Johnson caught the TD pass in exactly the same spot, in much the same way, as Stanford's Mark Bradford did nearly two months ago.

Gary Danielson just referred to the War Daddy as "our throwback player of the year". I do love Jacob Hester. Every time I see him play, I wonder, Has anyone seen John Riggins lately?
By the way, Ryan Perrilloux: sweet, sweet footwork. If only he could escape casinos that swiftly.
Gary Danielson just introduced us to the wishbone blocking term, "Outside hip, no dip." Which is just what I ordered at the Stone Cold Creamery last night.
Today's Phonetically Apt Name of the Day: Tennessee tight end Brad Cottam.
Tennessee's receivers are more wide-open than the Wolverine coaching job right now. If the Wolverines hire Brian Kelly of Cincinnati, that would mean the last two Bearcat coaches are now the head guys at the respective Michigan Big Ten schools. And the one who was the other's successor (Brian Kelly, following Mark D'Antonio) would have the more plush job. Timing really is everything.
Interesting Brian Kelly nugget: He worked as a press agent for Gary Hart during Monkey Business man's 1988 run for president.

Since nobody wanted to take a stab at my NFL vs. College first-down automatic clock stoppage query, here's another one: If we all agree that a 20-yard field goal is a chip shot, then the only real danger on a PAT is having the kick blocked. So why don't coaches have their holders line up three to five yards deeper and just ask the long snapper to snap it longer? Anyone want to answer this? Anyone? Buehler? USC's David Buehler? (and, yes, you don't pronounce it the same way)
