ALL HEEL HAS BROKEN LOOSE

Give mounds of credit to the Tar Heels. Down 40-12 at the 6:48 mark of the first half, they have now climbed all the way back to within 10. It's 54-46 with plenty of time (12:16) to play. The kids from Chapel Hill have outscored KU by 20 points in the last 14-plus minutes.

How? Well, first, they have settled into taking jump shots, no longer attacking the basket as they did during their game-opening run. Meanwhile, UNC has been getting steals which lead to easy hoops in transition. There, they just made another one. Darnell Jackson, I believe, made a great block but then Hansbrough got the putback, scored, and -- you'll never believe this -- was fouled.

It's 54-38, Kansas, and I do believe Bill Self's collar is growing tighter. Meanwhile, all that schadenfreude that Jayhawk fans were feeling at Roy Williams' expense in the first half is coming back on them.
