D.R. HAS A PhD in HOOPS

Derrick Rose, he of the three points and three turnovers in the first half, has come alive since the 12:10 mark of the 2nd half. Beginning with a lay-up at that point in time, Rose has 15 2nd-half points. The freshman has 15 of Memphis' last 19 points.

It's worth noting--and so I will--that in last year's Illinois state championship game, Rose scored just two points...but his team won. He didn't need to score. Tonight, he has. CDR, after all, has just one bucket since halftime.

It's 56-49, Memphis, with 3:36 to play.
