Favre leaves Lambeau, won't be practicing

Brett Favre just left Lambeau Field in his maroon Escalade. He will not be practicing at 2 p.m. Meanwhile, as I was going from the Media Room to practice, I ran into Packers GM Ted Thompson and CEO Mark Murphy who were leaving just after Favre. Both men were cordial. However, when Murphy was asked if he had any inkling which way things would go today, he literally scurried to the back bumper of his own Escalade and shook his head.

So far, the ESPN report on the situation remains the most enlightening bit of business from the stalemate.

Next step for today will be to attend practice and try to get Mike McCarthy to talk after it ends.
