Nasty Weather and a 7-0 Pats Lead
The Patriots, 23-3 in Foxboro since 1993 when the kickoff temperature is south of 34 degrees, galloped to a 7-0 lead as Mike Vrabel picked off Ben Roethlisberger on his second attempt of the game at the Pittsburgh 14 and Sammie Morris banged it in three minutes into the game. Horrid pick by Big Ben.

About this blog
Drilling deeply into the mantle layer of America's Passion, NBCSports.com's Tom Curran offers up quick hits and insights on all things NFL.
All this talk about Plexico, what about Matt Jones for the Jacksonville, Jaguars that had a cocaine possession and is still playing football and has not been dealt with by the commissioner of the NFL or our legal system. Are we only singling out the African American players in our media talks? Wrong is wrong, there is not grey area.
I watched the Bears play the Vikings. I am a Bears fan. Any time John Madden does a bears game he is always pro the other team. In my and my opinion he is the the most over rated and disgusting telecaster of all time!
I agree with Mr. King. Sports journalists (Bob Costas - Have you ever played professional sports?) are picking and choosing whom to crucify. The Giants had better be careful and not react based on limited public opinion. At the end of the day, Plaxico Burress is a phenomenal receiver who has many years of active successful play. The Giants won the Super Bowl with him and they had better not forget it!
Giant’s owner:
Do not make the same mistake as the MN Vikings owner did when the public opinion towards Randy Moss began to turn sour. What happened? Randy left a very dysfunctional situation and began phase 2 of a long and successful career with the Patriots.
Personal responsibility? Matt Jones snorted cocaine so I'm not going to obey the traffic laws and that justifies me running red lights? You may indeed have a valid point that Matt Jones deserves as much criticism as Plexico Burress? Poor behavior is poor behavior. Let's examine the behavioral differences between Matt Jones, Plexico Burress, Andre Aggasi and Warrick Dunn. You will find that both Matt Jones and Plexico Burress are nowhere in the same league as Andre Aggasi and Warrick Dunn. So is it fair to judge every N.F.L. player by the standards of Warrick Dunn? Read his story and you tell me. Like it or not we are all responsible for the choices that we make. Advocating the victims rationalization for the results of our own actions leads to no accountability. It doesn't hold water at all. The question should be why do we spend our time with Matt Jones or Plexico Burress, when there are some really great roles models for all of our children to aspire too?
