DENVER IS THE NEXT STOP FOR DERRICK WARD

With his free-agency visit to Cincinnati completed, running back Derrick Ward is on his way to Denver, according to a league source.

Ward will meet with Broncos officials on Sunday.

He's regarded as one of the top running backs on the market, and several teams have expressed interest.  His age (28) could be impacting the magnitude of any offers he has received.

Ward is going to be very disappointed with free agency. He has been injured for stretches in the last 3 seasons, is 28 going on 29, and seems like a product of the Giants system. He ran mostly on passing downs with slash-type plays; Guards and Tackles pulling in front of him. I don't think he's a bona fide starting RB in the NFL; 20+ carries a game between the tackles. How much guaranteed will he get? $7 million? He doesn't have a long resume either. He's a guy that should come back home and be sensible about it. Not sure if the Giants will pay that much guaranteed for him but we are a Championship team w or w/o him. Better to win and be in NY for a couple mill less.

I think he ends up leaving town without a contract. The Broncos will give him a sniff, but I don't think they'll make an offer. They have a lot of young talent in the backfield, I wouldn't think they would replace it entirely with free agents.

I thought Denver just signed Arrington and Buckhalter...I guess they have room for one more RB?

If he is signed by Denver, Ward's career will be over, Denver is a passing happy team.
The only way that Ward would be effective in Denver is if they trade Cutler. Which would not surprise me, afterall who can ever forget the Chump Daily for Clinton Portis trade.

Hummm do you evenn know what a football looks like? That is the dumbest statment I've seen on here. Portis is as much a cancer as TO. And Champ is not only one of the best players we have had here hes a good guy and has a brain.

Jay isnt going any where and I agree... When is Canty or Olshansky coming to town? Canty is what I've been waiting for.
