Cowboys shed dim light on T.O.'s release

When Terrell Owens was released last week, Jerry Jones' public explanation for the move was vague and full of praise for T.O.  It turns out his private explanation to Owens was no clearer.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram,  Jones used visual aids to make his point.  Jones  wrote his name and Owens' name on a table cloth, lauded his effort, then drew an arch over their names saying "Dallas Cowboys."

He told T.O. that, "Unfortunately I've got to make the decision for what's right for something a lot bigger than you, a lot bigger than me, and a lot bigger than our relationship.  It is time for us to part ways business wise."

Huh?  Jones' son Stephen said there were many factors in the move. "It's (salary) cap. It's health. It's age. His production. It's everything."

Conveniently not mentioned: Owens had enemies in high places throughout the organization, Stephen Jones foremost among them.  Left unsaid is that Owens was released entirely because he's pain in the arch.

It wasn't about money, football, or production.  Owens was still Dallas' best receiver and the Cowboys salary cap is in worse shape after dumping him.  Is it so hard to admit that Dallas simply tired of playing supporting roles in Terrell Owens' world?

In related news Thursday, there is a "controversy" over Owens' jersey number, and his planned matchmaking reality show will go forward in Buffalo.  Get your popcorn ready.

Self-promoters like T.O. (Rodman, etc.) always have a short shelf life with any team. I give him until game 7 on the schedule before he starts trouble. He simply cannot help himself. He thinks he has a career after football in hollywood, but he has already done an Emmy award winning job of acting like a team player just before he signs with each new team.

TO is a lot like several of my ex-girlfriends. He suffers from center of the universe syndrome. The entire galaxy revolves around them and is there only to serve their needs. They are delicate mentally and any disturbance will not only affect them but they will make sure the problem affects everyone else as well. Jones success as an owner is because of one thing. The Herschel Walker trade that brought in so much of what made them great. Without that (and Jimmy Johnson of course) little gem Jones would be nothing more than Al Davis with money.

Getting rid of T.O. can be positively compared to "Taking a Big, Healthy Dump"!! Let's see how long it takes Hollywood to have it 'Up to here' with his B.S.! And that's my last word on T.O. ~ I only hope that He gets 'LOST' ~ ASAP

Well, Jones has had enough. Frankly, we as fans, have had enough too. With all the dropped passes, this past season, plus all the other mess. It's about time he was dropped. And William's catch record has not increased either. Better start thinking about replacing him as well. Put up the big bucks and get some rookie recievers. And if Romo keeps screwing up, bench him like the Eagles did McNabb, and then watch him play better. Speaking of which, better look for a plan B and C in the QB position as well. Do the right thing and think about what I'm telling you!
