Favre's signing seems inevitable now
Given the chance Monday night on HBO's debut episode of Joe Buck Live to confirm that notion, Favre said, "Maybe. ... I am considering it."
The rest of Favre's interview, however, left little doubt as to his intentions. Favre confirmed most the reports that have been written about him over the last month.
- Favre confirmed that Dr. James Andrews performed surgery on him more than two weeks ago. He's already throwing again, and should be fully recovered in roughly two more weeks.
- Favre admitted that he's been in contact with the Vikings coaching staff, and that coach Brad Childress requested that Favre show up to last week's OTAs, even if he wasn't go to practice. Favre declined, apparently just in case his arm doesn't recover like he hopes, in order to avoid a media circus.
- The Vikings sent a trainer to meet with Favre Sunday, in order to go over some exercises that would be helpful in his recovery ... as if he's already a member of the team.
- Favre loves the idea of playing for the Vikings because of his familiarity with Childress' West Coast system. "I could teach the offense."
Favre has tried to avoid feeding the media beast for as long as possible, but there will be no avoiding it soon enough. Vikings vs. Packers is less than four months away.

I hope Brett plays one more season, and wins
a SuperBowl MVP again... and best of all -
thrashs the Packers twice.
DanG:
...and wins a Super Bowl MVP again... News flash pal, he never won a Super Bowl MVP.
Favre, just go away. He has become so irrelavant now and he just prolonging his career in such a cheap manner just ruins him. The ego and the call for attention and playing the fan thru the media is what he will be most remembered for. GO AWAY YOU DONE, FINISHED!!!!
Come on Favre. Come on back to Lambeau and get out played by A-Rod.
You've been planning to retire for 5 years now. Packers did nothing wrong by going in another direction last season.
One beneficiary of the “Favre Fiasco” is Bart Starr. Brett’s sorry situation highlights what a great player Bart was (two Super Bowl MVPs vs Brett’s 0) and what a great man Bart was and is (the personification of class vs the no-class Brett).
OMG! Stay where you are Brett. No One wants you back!!!!!!!!!
The Vike fans will take Brett in a heartbeat! Fran couldn't get the job done and bring home the ring. I don't care how old Brett is because he has DESIRE and wants to play to win. His mind is worth as much as his arm. Come join us Brett and let's kick some butt!! Afterall, this is a business and he is DONE with Green Bay and has moved on. Go for it Brett!!
To all of those that are telling him to stay home: Get A Life! It is just a game for your entertainment. If he wants to play, and the Vikings want him to join, then let it be. I doubt any of you would turn down millions to do what you love the most.
“Listen, Favre’s 100 years old; stop this already.
“This is what’s killing everybody. Every time Favre says, ‘I want to come back,’ it’s like everybody on ESPN says, ‘Whatever team he says he wants to come to, he makes them automatically a Super Bowl contender.’
“They said that same stuff last year with the Jets, and Favre gave out toward the end of the season.
“I love Favre and I think he’s been a phenomenal talent for a long time. But when I think about it now, I say, ‘Stop it already.’ I don’t mind that you still want to play football, but do you want to play so much, and you want to get back at [Green Bay General Manager] Ted Thompson so much, that you’re willing to go back into Lambeau and hurt those fans that supported you for so long?”
Why doesn't this clown just go away. This is a yearly thing now. Sniff, sniff, "i'm retiring" "I can't do this anymore" sniff, sniff" poor me. "Oh wait a minute, I didn't say that, or actually mean it". I was ummm well you know, their all liars. I'm really thinking of coming back, but not sure yet??? GO AWAY MAN EVERYONE is sick of your act.
Has anyone seen the 'We'll never forget you Brent' tshirt that is out there? It's a riot. Please Brent, stay in mississippi and coach high school football. We'd like to remember you for who you were - not the ego monster you've turned into. Ick! Aaron! Aaron! Aaron!
douche!!!!
Who cares about Farve, did you see what he did in NY last year? Nothing, he's done, toast, washed up. Doesn't matter if he ruins his legacy oh wait, he already has, let him keep playing, he can be one of the greats to go out when he his rock bottom and look like an idiot. He would have been smart to end on an up note. I heard Wal-Mart was hiring maybe he can be a greeter, maybe he's just scared he will have too much time to do nothing. What ever he does, who cares, what makes him so much better than any of the other future famers playing now??
Michael please. This isn't about Green Bay here in Minnesota. This is about the Vikings having more success and going further. We need a Super Bowl caliber quarterback to be a "contender", period. Let us be the judge of what we want, not what Green Bay and retirees think is best for either.
Plus, Brett was hurt last year. Surgery repaired it. Don't expect the same result. It is worth it for the Vikings.
Darren Sharper came here and fans supported him on both sides at the games I attended. There is never a guarantee that you stick with one team forever. The real world my friend. And if he is so old to matter, why did the Packers not allow him to come to Minnesota last year? I think the deal is done. Let's play some football!
I am a Vikings fan, and I do NOT want this old man on my team, when we could be developing a quarterback for the long run.....not half a season!
testing #3
Bart Starr was the ultimate winner, but referring to "2 SB's" is like referring to FDR as a "former assistant Secretary of the Navy", and leaving out that he was 4X elected Pres of the US, leading the US thru the Depression and WWII.
The tip-top, World Championship Games of those years were the NFL Title Games against NY-NY-Clev-Dal-Dal (The Ice Bowl), not the 2 novelty games against the expansion league teams.
Anyway, you're right about Bart and I hope Brett stays retired.
If you believe Favre is going to turn the Vikings into Champions...you're delusional. Sorry man.
Please come back, so when you play against the Bears you can toss a couple of interceptions and then when you get sacked the 3rd time and you break your leg I will be laughing while watching the bears destroy the Vikings. Your to old and your body will not be able to take another year in football, so please come back so I watch you get hurt!!
Vikings fans are just looking for a decent quarterback and if Favres arm is back, hes better than Jackson in almost all ways. Watching Tavaris play was extremely stressful because you couldn't depend on the guy. I've been sick of his back and forth for years but if he can help us (Vikings) get to the playoffs and then hopefully the superbowl, I really don't care.
Get over it people. Favre is a great athlete and a great role model. We are talking about football here...if the guy wants to play, let him and get over it! He clearly has the will and talent! If I were him I would want to play too. How do we know what really went on behind the scenes in GB....who are we to judge? Cant wait to have him a part of my Sunday morning again no matter where he plays, he is great to watch. Let the criticism and disrespect end..get over it people!! Go Favre! You are the reason I started watching the NFL.. Keep it up!!
We sell the "We'll never forget your Brent" t-shirts at Sconnie Nation (521 State St, Madison, WI 53703) or online at sconnie.com:

Face reality. Brett is a savvy marketer. The media, the advertisers and the Vikings HAVE to love this guy. Will he or won't he? Selfish or not, everything he does builds anticipation and SELLS football, tickets and ads. When his career is finally over, I expect a media frenzy over who can lure the guy into their booth. He adds too much "color" to go away from the game anytime soon.
Farve's a tool.
Favre's a tool!
To those of you who say, "Who cares?" or "Go away" or "Enough already", why do you keep reading? Why do you feel a need to comment?
I think maybe you do care... more than you're willing to admit.
He's a football player, and if he wants to play, let him play. If GB doesn't want him anymore, so be it. Let him play where he wants to play.
And tell me you won't be glued to the TV the night he comes running out of that tunnel at Lambeau dressed in purple.
I'll be watching -- because like it or not, he's entertaining to watch. He brings drama to the game, and you can't deny it.
Let me think about it....GO AWAY! I am so sick and tired of hearing about this egomaniac. Stop writing about him and maybe he will dissapear.
He loves playing the game, He isn't a bad QB(past his prime-yes bad-no). He isn't ruining his image because he doenst care about it---as long as he is still ahving fun he should play. I agree the Packers did the right thing, i agree he should make a decision, and i agree he will never be the QB he once was...but let him play and enjoy the last year(or more) his body will allow.
Farve come back! you know why i want you to come back so bad...because you want to! why does everybody need there 2 cents in? Why don't we all just let other people live there lives how they want I hope he comes back it'd be great football and if he sucks oh well.. all you haters should probably just think if i was him what would i do... and you'd probably be going to viking country..

And why is this Bret's fault? you all hate him because you hear about him so much...but you don't hate ESPN reading blogs really just shows me how sad and stupid people really are
nbc has the worst lineup for Sunday Night Football. olberdork has failed as a sportcaster earlier. What makes nbc think he won't continue to fail on America's worst network?
good luck
