Harry, you probably don't take questions here but just in case. Given the problems that Joachim Johansson, Tommy Haas, Guillermo Coria etc have had with should injuries do you think this is perhaps more serious than Roddick is letting on?
The word from John Roddick at Dusseldorf seemed to be 'he'll be fine for Wimbledon, it isn't long term' etc. etc. but historically it seems that if the shoulder starts to go it tends to become a recurring problem.
I'd be interesting in your thoughts. Or those of anybody else who reads this!!
Chances are that the shoulder injury isn't the key problem facing Roddick, as much as the back injury. When it comes to serving, the back is the key in building speed and fluid momentum. Andy has been struggling with back issues, which most likely [indirectly] led to the shoulder injury. Hence, only time will tell if this severely hinders Andy's future, but he is making the right move by not trying to play through the pain on a grinding clay surface....take care of the issue now, and prevent long term threats...he will be fine for atleast a few more years.
Many thanks for the reply.
I hope Roddick will be healthy again in time for Wimbledon where he can do the most damage with that serve of his.
