Serbian Movement- Ginepri Soul

The Serbian stars on the ladies bracket are moving through the draw and on to the quarterfinals.  Jelena Jankovic managed to beat No. 14 Agnieszka Radwanska 6-3, 7-6 (7-3), despite suffering from a sore shoulder, while Ana Ivanovic routed Petra Cetkovska 0&0.

Believe it or not, winning 6-0, 6-0 in a Grand Slam isn't always a good thing, as it sometimes takes your rhythm away and acts as an extra day of rest.  Ivanovic fans, rest assure that Ana was back on the practice courts after her match, getting a workout in; but ideally in a big event, you'd like to win a 6-3, 6-3 grinding match, which often builds more confidence.  Of course when you're on the court you can't think this way, and ultimately you take it one point at a time.  Regardless, Ana is looking better than anyone on the women's bracket, and without Justine in the draw, she could go one step farther than 2007, and win the event.  Speaking of early round grinds that build confidence, #1 seed Maria Sharapova had two tough 3 setters in the first two rounds, and now she seems to be improving as the tourney continues.  Hence, Maria first appeared to be under prepared for this event, but that's clearly not the case, as she's peaking at the right time.

And finally, tip your hat to Robby Ginepri, firstly he's a great guy off the court; but more importantly he's done his part in helping American tennis stay on the map in the last decade, and is making a magical run in Paris.  If I could compare Robby's career to anyone, it would be Todd Martin; a warrior/unsung hero who can hang with the best and seems to make his way deep in Grand Slam draws.

I agree....when you win 0&0 sometimes you need to work out more to get that tournament tough feeling back!
