Wimbledon Twilight

Wimbledon Men's Finals: It was the defining moment of our tennis generation; two of the greatest champions going head to head under a dramatic sunset at the All England Club.  Both players used sheer determination and guts to continue at a top level throughout 4 hours and 48 minutes.  Tears of joy and pain were shed by Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, while flash bulbs were the only sources of light on the war torn center court.  I knew we (as a tennis community) were in for something special when people, who don’t usually follow tennis, were also locked on the TV set for every point of this epic final.  Rafa dramatically fell to the grass after capturing his first Wimbledon title, he wasn’t the only winner after this amazing match; the whole tennis community was also a winner tonight….just another reason why we love this game!  Congratulations and thank you to Roger and Rafa, two legendary ambassadors.

ROGER FEDERER... WILL YOU MARRY ME? PLEASE...

Roger Federer remains the one to beat, on and off the court. Class, Style, Handsome, Suave, Handsome, Debonaire, Sexy, Respectful, Sexy, Humble, Genuine, and THE BEST TENNIS PLAYER THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN!!
So what he lost THIS one Wimbledon title? He just had a hiccup to let the world know he is human. Otherwise it would be hard to believe he is. Yet, it is hard to believe that Rafa beat Roger with one hand behind his back, (doing you know what Rafa does with that free hand of his behind his back, plucking every chance he gets... is that an "obsessive compulsive disorder" he has? I think he needs to get diagnosed.)

However, both guys did put up an "AMAZING" battle on Wimbledon's center court. I was sitting on pins and needles with each shot. And, when it was all over, my heart wept for Roger. I knew how badly he wanted to win and continue his Wimbledon triumph and break the record, I wish I could have been there to hug him. He is just so adorable and sweet, you can't help but to love him... and I can't help but to ask again,...

ROGER WILL YOU PLEASE MARRY ME??
(I can help you forget all about today's loss)

I am already looking forward to a rematch of Federer-Nadal in the US Open... my man will certainly take the title there. I'll be waiting for you in the States, Roger.

What has happened to "boy wonder" Andy Roddick? Will he pose a problem for Roger or Rafa? Has tennis written him off as a spark that never quite ignited into a flame? He is skilled, but it just seems that so many others are besting him and edging him out.

My opinion, from a psychiatric view, is that Andy lacks mental toughness. He is overly emotional on the court, and that interferes with his concentration.

Consider the great tennis player, Borg, Sampras, Andre, they were all very reserved and cool and collected on court... (I know you are thinking, what about J.McEnroe? Well, I left him out on purpose, for obvious reasons, he is an anomaly.) Calmness, prevails. Consider even, Venus vs. Serena Williams, Venus is the more reserved and calmer of the two and hence she wins most often in match ups amngst the two. Think about it... there is logic worth considering here.

Nevertheless, as always, ROGER, I LOVE YOU!!

A defining moment in the lives of two tennis players? Yes. A defining moment for the sport of tennis? Yes. And for all the world to see? The best not only that two sports stars who work very hard have to offer of their skill, but also of their hearts. Two men with grace and class, bringing to everyone lessons in sportsmanship, but also, in humanity. With so much to mourn in the world today, what an amazing gift to be able to flip on a television set and feel the surge of the heart for these two exceptional men.

Congratulations to both of them, for their tennis performance, but more importantly, thank you to them both for providing an example of the depth of the heart to everyone who watched the magic unfold on that court today. That is their true lasting legacy, that is how we all have the power to change the world.
