About this blog
Harry Cicma tackles the hot topics in tennis, sharing his insight on the favorites, tournament news and players to watch. Harry was ranked for three years on the ATP Tour doubles circuit and played four years of NCAA Division-I tennis at Rutgers University. He now covers all sports as a TV producer/anchor on NBC in Southern New England.
I would like to know why the Williams sisters always shake hands with the umpire first after winning a match. Every other tennis match that I have watched, the winner always allows the loser to shake hands with the umpire first. They don't seem to be aware of standard court etiquette.
It's comical how bias the commentators are to the Williams sisters. I think they do the broadcast with their pants down. They keep giving Sharapova a hard time for her (grunt-shreik) and fail to mention anything about the Williams's who sound quiet similar
Is there anyway that we can separate Robinson and McEnroe?
Here's an idea. Tell them that they are there to talk about the match that's on the screen. Not whatever pops into their head.
Games pass where the only point they mention is the last one.
Tennis viewing is down. No wonder. If they can't be bothered with what's happening on that court down there then why should the casual viewer?
The semi's of Wimbledon and they are all over the map but for some reason can't find that little piece of dirt right in front of them.
John MacEnroe: Biting a metal (like the Wimbledon or Monte Carlo trophy by Raphael Nadal) is an old way to determine how pure the gold is.
How in the world can you watch a Tennis Match, especially a Final, when you have two idiots like JOHN MCENROE AND TEN ROBINSON who don't know when to SHUT UP and more then half the time are talking about something unrelated to Tennis? I have to mute the TV to even get through a match and am even considering not even watching anymore.
